Good Friday... It Was For Fanning!

Contrary to popularly belief, it seems Lightning certainly does strikes twice, as illustrated in what is quickly being labeled as, 'the greatest Bells final ever'!
Mick Fanning rang the Bell this week, for only the second time in his professional surfing career, previously winning in 2001. Good Friday's action packed final saw a stunning array of signature body torquing turns, crucifying whips and HUGE 'holier than thou' airs from both finalist, Mick Fanning and Kelly Slater.

The 11 times World Champ, Kelly Slater, said to be a spiritual man but by no means religious, pulled off a heavenly tribute to the good Lord with a colossal sized Hail Mary, posting an outright 10-point score from a single manoeuvre ride. "Would you Adam and Eve it!" Both surfers exchanged blow for blow in the battle to become this years prestigious Bells Beach bell ringer. With the nail biting 40 minute final ending on a close called, 18.80 from Fanning, to Slater's 18.07, Good Friday in Victory, Australia, saw Mick 'Eugene' Fanning resurrected to his rightful place amongst surfing gods for the second time in history.

Slater, reaching for the heavens.

Fanning, loving life.
