Kelly Slater

Right, i'm putting this up for two reasons, all be it a tad tardy due to a recent Scandinavian jaunt.

Firstly, if this isn't the perfect opportunity to welcome in the man himself to these surf related rambles, then i don't know what is. Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, i bring to you, the one and only... the reference point... the 11 times World Champion... The King... KELLY SLATER!
With an astonishing 48 WCT event wins and 11 world titles, Kelly is without a doubt the greatest surfer ever and, for me, the greatest athlete of all time. At nearly 40 years old, Jimmy Slade is still winning titles left, right and centre, as illustrated in this manic montage. Slater's ability to continually reinvent his surfing style has enabled him to consistently dominate and overcome anything and everything that's thrown in his direction, going bigger and better- hacks, carves, cutties, punts, barrels or boosting HUGE airs. Kelly Slater.... flying higher than ever!

Secondly, having seen Ben Howard in Stockholm last weekend, i can categorically say that 'y'all should go watch his ass!' The show may not contain Scott Nixon's D n B beats but Howard's definitely packing a punch with some heavy drops of his own. Hands down one of the BEST gigs i've ever been to.
